Volt Workforce Solutions has a Direct Hire position available in Wayne, PA for a Legal Compliance Analyst.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Compliance Director, the Compliance Associate will focus his/her activities upon legal research and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Legal Compliance Analyst/Associate will:
- Assist in the reporting of Compliance deliverables and development of reporting tools.
- Monitor and manage all legislative/regulatory online services to ensure that Our Client remains the premier source for up-to-the-minute industry information.
- Report on the progress of individual pieces of pending State and Federal legislation.
- Create and update profiles summarizing the main statutory and regulatory requirements for reporting and delivering Unclaimed Property (UP) to the 54 U.S. reporting jurisdictions.
- Develop and update matrices summarizing specific provisions of State Unclaimed Property laws and other statutes relating directly or indirectly to the ownership and transfer of intangible property.
- Create monthly UP summary and spreadsheet reports to designated customers.
- Create semi-annual UP matrices for designated customers.
- Research and answer questions concerning specific provisions of State Unclaimed Property laws and regulations.
- Assess the applicability of State Unclaimed Property laws to specific property types or industries.
- Obtain explanations and opinions from State Unclaimed Property Administrators relating to specific requirements for complying with State Unclaimed Property laws and reporting guidelines.
- Provide technical review and editorial support for Our Client’s newsletter.
- Provide research support for the Legal Claimant Services Group.
- Work on all research projects that are assigned to this position.
- Receive training in and seek understanding of all areas of business.
Non Essential Functions:
- Attend meetings and take notes.
- Address intra-company concerns telephonically.
- Write internal reports.
- Participate in employee meetings.

Requirements:
Required Skills for this Legal Compliance Analyst position include the following:
- Must be a Juris Doctor with 1-2+ years of professional business experience and/or 10 years of Paralegal experience
- Project Management experience
- Proficiency in Westlaw or legal databases
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Must possess analytical reasoning skills
- Must also be detail-oriented
- Demonstrated writing ability
- Proven ability to perform hardcopy and electronic legal research
- Ability to work well with others and to take direction on cross-functional projects
