Legal Counsel for IGRS
Key Accountabilities
IGRS is a market facing unit (MFU) within the Corporate Life Pensions (CLP) pillar of Global Life and includes two main businesses: International Group Protection (IGP) and Zurich Employee Benefits Network.
In your role as Legal Counsel for IGRS you will contribute to delivering the mission of Global Life. You will enable the IGRS business to achieve its commercial goals by proactive identification and minimization of legal, regulatory, compliance and governance risks through professional, independent and appropriate advice. You will support the IGRS business in all legal, regulatory, compliance and governance matters, develop and provide an integrated view of those risks and procure external legal services where appropriate.
Skills and Experience
To your Bachelor degree in Law, you will also bring broad experience in a legal function of a financial services undertaking and in insurance cross-border business. You have a comprehensive understanding of respective country's legal and regulatory framework and knowledge of Group compliance policies. Your understanding of business and financial services law is above average and you have a good understanding of other legal cultures and systems. Additionally you have good working knowledge of local and European laws and regulations as well as a good understanding of insurance and financial services
industry, preferable with cross-border insurance business. You possess a solid understanding of the economic aspects of the insurance industry, have commercial understanding and entrepreneurial sense. You also have an excellent command of English (both written and spokenl) and German language skills would be an advantage.
You are an assertive person with the ability to work under pressure as well as the ability to adapt to new ideas and a changing environment. Furthermore, you are a self-motivated team worker who is proactive and has an independent method of working and the ability to cover details as well as see the bigger picture.
