Currently operating internationally, this established financial services organisation is one of the largest of its kind in Australia and provides a variety of benefits including finance, travel, technology and insurance services exclusively to its members. In order to maintain the existing business and support future growth initiatives, a Legal Counsel is required.
Working in a close knit legal team, you will provide legal support to all business areas, with a particular focus on servicing the insurance functions of the organisation. You will be required to advise on corporate, commercial, compliance and finance law issues; will draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial documents and dependent upon your level of experience, will provide company secretarial support. The internal management of disputes and briefing out to external legal providers will also form part of your role.
Essential to your success in this position will be your knowledge and understanding of the corporate and regulatory obligations of insurance providers and mutual operations. Solid understanding of financial services legislation regulations and previous company secretarial, compliance or corporate governance experience is also desirable. A minimum of 3-5 years PAE in corporate commercial law, strong technical ability and exceptional communication skills are crucial to this role.
