Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide full legal support to the businesses within Asia Pacific with a focus on our activities in the PRC and inTaiwan.
Key offices in this region are located inSingapore(Head Office for Asia),Beijing, Hong Kong,Tokyo,KoreaandSydney. The position will involve extensive contact with most countries in the Asia Pacific region. Responsibilities will include in particular:
- Negotiation and drafting of a wide range of contracts including software licensing, letters of intent, maintenance agreements and technology purchase agreements.
- Advising on day to day matters relating the Asian affiliates, including commercial, employment, corporate, real estate and other general matters.
- Contribution to the Group's Legal Department advice on a range of issues relating to the protection of the Group's portfolio.
- Contribution to the Group's Legal Department compliance program.
Requirements:
- A qualified lawyer with 4-8 years post qualification experience preferably in the PRC or inHong Kong.
- Solid academic background and training.
- Strong non-contentious experience with exposure to general corporate/commercial issues.
- Fluent Mandarin (spoken and written) is a prerequisite. The candidate must be able to negotiate and write contracts and other legal documents in Mandarin.
