Legal Counsel, Treasury

In the function of Legal Counsel, you will be supporting and reporting directly to the lead legal counsel to Swiss Re's global Treasury Department with locations in Zurich, London and New York. Working closely with the business, you will ensure that on all debt and equity transactions (which could be large and complex) all legal and regulatory issues are addressed and dealt with appropriately. You will help to provide legal advice to Treasury on these transactions and coordinate with other legal and compliance colleagues within the Swiss Re Group to facilitate timely exchange of information between Treasury Legal and the Business Functions. You will draft and review the wording of contracts as well as capital markets related marketing and other documentation, advise management as well as other business colleagues and liaise with the respective authorities as required. You will handle matters regarding corporate, securities, commercial and contract law and be involved in various projects.

* legal support for capital market transactions
* drafting/review of credit agreements, bond documentation, etc.
* legal support for yearly update of our EMTN Programme
* legal support for capital markets and strategic Group transactions
* corporate governance developments
* management of external lawyers

About you

Your Profile

* law degree and admission to law practice
* at least 5 years experience in a financial services environment or in a highly regarded law firm
* working knowledge of capital markets regulation
* fluent in English
* excellent communicator and team player, stress
