ROLE TITLE: Legal Entity Analyst
REPORTS TO: Legal Entity Controller
BUSINESS AREA: JPMorgan Riyadh Branch Saudi Arabia
Business Activity:
The primary purpose of the Riyadh Branch is to bring access to various J.P.Morgan global banking products directly to Saudi Arabian clients, delivered and serviced locally in Saudi Arabia.
J.P. Morgan's banking products in Riyadh will be delivered during 2010 and 2011, beginning with Treasury and Money Markets capability established in Q4 2010 and building out into a fully functional corporate banking, treasury, cash management and trade finance platform by the end of Q3 2011.
Role Purpose:
The Legal Entity Controller's group is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial results of the legal entities in the location whilst ensuring businesses booking in the legal entities comply with the applicable regulatory requirements.
The LEC ensures that other functional areas execute their identified responsibilities in a manner that maintains the accuracy of the books and records, and escalates issues appropriately.
Priorities:
- Production of local regulatory returns
- Production of required local entity financial and management information.
- Ensure adequate operating control environment maintained
- Local contact for accounts payable function (primarily offshored)
Key Outputs:
1. Control
- Follow up of queries from Daily Ledger control monitoring team in India hub.
- Ensure that Riyadh branch can support the required Corporate Month end close timetable
- Ensure that manual accounting entries, where required, are prepared, understood, and passed in a timely manner.
- Monitoring of control process around financial information reporting
2. Information Delivery
- Provide LEC with a timely and accurate reporting material.
- The key focus will be the completion of SAMA Regulatory Reporting in ERMS
- Provide timely responses to queries raised by Internal clients and others
- Ensure quick response to any queries raised by corporate reporting, regulatory groups, business CFO and MO in relation to legal entity
- Provide analysis of Legal Entity results to LEC and the local Senior Management Team
- Perform detailed analysis of the balance sheet and PL variances.
- Review monthly Trial Balance Sheet
- Expenses review
- Follow up any queries raised by LEC and Senior Management
Experience
- Production delivery of business level management information.
- Production of local regulatory returns Statutory accounts preparation
Technical Skills Knowledge
- Understands and is able to apply accounting principles and policies to a line of business activities.
- Is able to understand the accounting and control processes for the line of business.
- Can demonstrate understanding of products, markets and business and operational control procedures.
- Good analytical skills, as demonstrated with use of appropriate techniques, solid command of business information, and clearly presented output and analysis
- Excel literacy essential

Qualifications
- Business Degree, Part Qualified or studying accountant.
