Legal Entity Financial Controller recruitment

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build out RBC Europe Limited legal entity control function using the legal entity controllers core objectives document as a framework.
Provide regular MIS and analysis on EL Balance Sheet and P+L including input into month end close, MIS reporting packages and other reports for senior management to review.
Producing Balance Sheet MIS for use in regulatory reporting and planning
RBCEL HO reporting
Local RBCEL reporting e.g Balance sheet and P+L for tax
Monitor / Superivse KPI’s on breaks by other controllers and departments
Breaks are highlighted to the correct group for clearing
Produce MIS for presentation to management on a regular basis, providing summarized KPI’s on breaks and resolution
Review and management of the RBCEL month end reconciliations pack.
Head Office Reporting and Control and Governance
Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of allocated HO reporting.
Timely preparation of Financial Control monthly packages in accordance with standards of documentation.
Review of core controls in legal entity to determine any issues requiring escalation under BRAG
Preparation of legal entity monthly MIS packs – covering areas such as balance sheet, P+L and funding
Production and organization of permanent information pack for legal entity
Shared responsibilities
Cover to Branch controller where appropriate
Cover adhoc HO requests
Requirement to be aware of EL related control issues under the responsbility of other groups e.g Line of Business, Systems integrity, Product Control, Operations
Providing support and MIS to the statutory accounts team where necessary
Projects
Represent Financial Control on projects impacting EL as appropriate
Staff management: Take responsibility for the direct management of the EL LEC team.
Experience and skills:
- Qualified Accountant
- Experience of working in a large financial services organsation or Investment Banking environment.
- Some knowledge of IB products would be preferable- - Technical experience of IFRS
- experience of drafting financial statements
