LEGAL & REGULATORY POLICY ASSISTANT recruitment
A leading independent Investment Management company within Edinburgh currently have a temporary vacancy available within their Legal Department for a Legal Regulatory Policy Assistant. The purpose of this role is to provide general assistance with a variety of tasks within the Legal Regulatory Filings Team, helping to ensure compliance with the relevant requirements. This role will report directly to the Legal Regulatory Filings Manager.
Core Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinating and completing Shareholder/Takeover disclosure forms is the main responsibility of this role.
- In addition, the role also involves:
- Co-ordinating and undertaking other regulatory filings when required.
- Assisting with specific projects (preparation of papers, arranging of meetings and training sessions etc.)
- Co-ordinating department policies and procedures, including flowcharts
- Assisting the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and the Deputy MLRO with anti-money laundering (AML) obligations (e.g. training, documentation, meetings, research etc.)
Core Skills:
- The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, as well as accuracy/attention to detail.
- Applicants must have good communication and negotiation skills at all levels and the ability to impact and influence both internally and externally.
- The ability to deliver high quality results in advance of deadlines with a proactive and positive approach is also essential.
Core Requirements:
- Applicants will have at least 2 years previous experience within a professional services environment, ideally operating at a part-qualified level (e.g. part-qualified accountant/paralegal etc.).
- Previous experience of regulatory filings (such as EDGAR, IARD, Gabriel etc) would be highly beneficial, but is not essential.
