Legal Specialist
ITCSSL is part of Group Legal and is responsible for legal support and control in the following areas: IT, E-commerce and New Media, Supply and Demand Management, Intellectual Property, Offshoring and Outsourcing, Data Privacy and Protection and Real Estate.
The ITCSSL EMEA team consists of 5 lawyers located in London and 1 lawyer located in Poland.
The role requires legal expertise in information technology, outsourcing offshoring, commercial contracts and e-commerce/social media, together with a good working knowledge of data protection and intellectual property.
The role will involve working as part of an experienced global legal team at UBS, taking responsibility for providing excellent legal support and advice as required to all UBS business divisions in relation to a wide range of matters, focussing primarily on information technology, outsourcing offshoring, commercial contracts and e-commerce/social media.
- UK qualified lawyer with relevant training and experience (unlikely to be less than 3 years PQE) gained at an appropriate law firm and/or company. Applications from lawyers qualified in non UK jurisdictions but with an excellent working knowledge of English law will also be considered.
- Track record of advising on legal issues relating to information technology, outsourcing offshoring, commercial contracts and e-commerce/social media and negotiating related significant, high value contracts.
- Good working knowledge of data protection and intellectual property.
- Experience of advising/working in/with major financial services organizations.
- Ability to lead major global/regional projects and coordinate the work of other lawyers
- Experience of working in private practice is desirable and the ability to manage external counsel effectively is essential.
- Ability to lead and supervise junior lawyers and trainees.
- Ability to work proactively and independently to tight deadlines and take responsibility for delivering effective legal solutions to complex legal issues.
- A high level of knowledge of, familiarity with and keen interest in technology
