Lending Manager - Commercial Banking
Reporting to Senior Manager
The Role:
The Relationship Manager is responsible for working with a team of Relationship Managers. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of all aspects of Banking, proven people management skills and a track record of client service delivery. He/She will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our clients and internal departments to deliver excellent client service and value add to the business.
Essential Duties:
- Day to day management of a portfolio of loans with emphasis on ensuring compliance with the various codes of practice
- Operate as a key person representing the Bank in relationships with key clients
- Ongoing analysis and monitoring of portfolio to ensure arrears are kept to a minimum
- As appropriate, negotiate repayment schedules with clients
- Assist in the reduction of overall capital usage (including via the reduction of risk weighted assets)
- Ensure clients reviews are carried out and completed within agreed timeframes
- Ensure issues which have been escalated are appropriately addressed
Experience:
- Extensive banking experience within a financial services enironment
- Have a significant background of experience in managing a portfolio of clients
- Excellent credit and decision making skills
- The role requires excellent commercial judgment and an in depth understanding of legal, credit and compliance issues
- A strong customer relationship building approach, understanding and successful track record of delivery against challenging objectives
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of lending executives

- Ability to identify early risk situations where a credit solution might not be readily achievable
- Ability to effectively engage with other areas of the business to support inter-departmental projects and processes which directly impact the business
- Excellent time management and prioritising skills necessary
- Strong team player as well as the ability to work on own initiative
Education:
- Business related degree (min 2.1) and/or accountancy qualification
- QFA Qualified
