Leverage Finance Origination – Associate/VP
My client, a top investment bank are looking to make the hire of a talented senior associate or junior VP leveraged finance originator to join their top platform in New York. This is an excellent role for a charismatic team player with previous experience in leveraged finance/acquisition finance or high yield debt.

The role:
- Coordinating a more junior team of 6 analysts/junior associates, you will work to originate new leveraged finance/LBO and asset/equipment financing opportunities in North America, working across a variety of geographies and products. The team has a significant deal pipeline and is the mandated lead underwriter on a significant amount of high-profile transactions in the market. You will work predominantly across LBOs, leveraged loans, high yield debt and some corporate/acquisition financings (to a lesser extent).
- Take a high level of responsibility in transactions undertaken – must coordinate extensively with senior external corporates/FIG/banks to assess credit strengths and weaknesses of companies. Using/establishing an extensive network of external banking contacts you will gather up-to-date market information to offer advice to the team.
- Will be required to conduct the credit analysis of potential LBO opportunities, make recommendations to senior management, prepare credit applications for the credit committee, financial modelling and structuring of debt, review of due diligence and negotiation of term sheets and legal documentation.
Requirements/Desirable Qualities:
- Candidates must be Senior Associate or Junior VP level and have extensive experience in a leveraged finance origination position. Travel across the US will be required and ideally candidates will have an existing familiarity/experience working with the core geographies
- Must be a very confident individual as well as a good team-player. Will be your responsible to also train and guide the analysts/associates on the team and must have very strong leaderships skills.
- Will be able to work well under pressure and be flexible to long working hours when required.
