Leveraged Finance Direct Lending Associate
The credit analyst is required to have a capability to analyse and to write reports and make recommendations to the Portfolio and Senior Portfolio Manager.
The role will involve:
• Credit analysis of potential investee companies, covering a range of different company sizes and a variety of industry sectors. This role will initially have particular responsibility for evaluating transactions for their direct lending fund
• Analysing historic and forecast financial statements
• Preparing integrated financial models and conducting sensitivity analyses
• Summarising industry and company specific investment drivers and risks and making recommendations for inclusion in both long-only and long/short funds
• Working as part of a small team to carry out due diligence on investee companies
• Ongoing monitoring of portfolio holdings
The person:
• Either (i)leveraged finance experience gained at a leading investment bank or buy side institution or (ii) an accountancy qualification.
• Ability to determine and synthesise key risks/drivers and form a view on investment attractiveness
• Fundamental credit analysis skills, including the ability to:
- Identify key drivers of a business and industry
- Analyze financial statements, credit metrics and create integrated models
- Form a view of relative and absolute value attractiveness
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to and flexibility with the role
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude, team orientated.
• The ability to multi task
• Qualification such as CFA or professional training
