Leveraged loan reporter, European news desk
Debtwire, a leading fixed income newswire part of the Financial Times Group, is looking for a driven journalist with a desire to become a leading market commentator in the field of leveraged loans. Reporting on corporate efforts to raise, refinance and service leveraged debt as well as on the secondary loan market, the candidate will be expected to break news ahead of other media outlets. The candidate will also need to uncover detailed information on company earnings, working on a fast-paced news desk with some of the highest calibre reporters in Europe.
The position will offer the opportunity for foreign travel, and speaking and moderating at conferences.
With banking, fund management and advisory clients worldwide, we are looking for a candidate to write detailed news articles for our subscribers as well as occasional feature pieces for FT.com. The role includes an element of company earnings interpretation and candidates are expected to take a proactive approach to relationship development, cold calling and chasing leads.
The successful candidate will have:
- Aspirations to break news and deliver actionable intelligence regarding leveraged loan issuers;
- An understanding of loan/bond terms and a strong grasp of the broader financial markets;
- Impeccable writing skills and an investigative mind;
- Excellent time management and communication skills;
- A self-starter attitude with a cooperative approach;
- Outstanding networking and contact building skills.
