Standard Utility is a preferred electrical contractor for one of the largest electric suppliers in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area. We currently have three locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex; each one has been strategically located. Our Mesquite office provides Dallas coverage; the Grand Prairie office covers the southern counties of Grand Prairie, Desoto and Cedar Hill; our home office is located in Tarrant County. This gives us a broad base to provide for outlying locations, such as Weatherford, Mineral Wells, Decatur, etc.
Currently, we are looking for qualified, diverse individuals to apply for the following position:
Licensed Journeyman Electrician
Responsible for:
· Work on energized and de-energized residential and commercial electrical meters, and bases.
· Installation, removal and reading of electrical meters, CT’s and PT’s.
· Inspection and repair/replacement of electric meters and single and three phase self-contained meter bases and weather heads due to damage or needed maintenance.
· Overnight travel required.
Requirements:
· 2 years minimum electrical services experience required.
· Must have current Journeyman Electricians license.
· Must be qualified to work on energized low voltages of up to 600 volts without direct supervision.
· Requires advanced skills in math, reading comprehension, and strong verbal communication skills.
· Requires high level of attention to detail.
· Must have mechanical aptitude.
· Must follow all safe work practices.
· If not certified, will be required to attend certification courses.
· Must have the ability to accurately read meters, operate diagnostic equipment, and able to read and understand construction type drawings, and electrical schematics.
· Must be computer literate.
· May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional formal or occupational education focused on electrical services and construction is helpful. State wide travel preferable. Class A CDL Preferred.
