The Company:

Our client is a leading developer and producer of innovative high-tech precision optics systems for the analysis of microstructures.  As one of the market leaders in each of the fields of Microscopy, Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy, Imaging Systems, Specimen Preparation and Medical Equipment.  Comprising nine manufacturing facilities in seven countries, sales and service companies in 20 countries and an international network of dealers, the company is represented in over 100 countries.


The Opportunity:

The company currently has an opening for a Sales Representative based in The Netherlands to cover Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Gelderland and part of Noord-Brabant.  All applicants must not be adverse to travel, as this is a position that may require you to travel when necessary.

Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 EUR + Bonus

Primary Responsibilities:

This is a key territory direct sales role.  The primary objective is to grow sales and margin in the territory and to increase market share through effective promotion and selling efforts and by aggressively defending achieved market share with detailed pipeline and activity management.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Work with the Sales Manager and the local Marketing support to develop a Sales Strategy for the territory in order to ensure achievement of agreed financial targets
- Carry out Sales Plans and activities in the territory in order to achieve Sales and Profitability targets; Set priorities and push product promotion and special selling efforts to optimize results
- Plan and carry out regular visits to existing customers to continually monitor requirements, satisfaction levels, business trends and competitor activity
- Validate sales funnel in terms of realistic chance to win contract and prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume and potential sales
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products


Education and Experience Required:

- Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent is preferred while strong sales experience in a relevant industry is of equal value
- Proven record of successful selling of similar products
- Ability to drive business success through demonstrating consistent and impressive sales growth over a period of time
- Strong communications; Sound business acumen
- Fluency in English and Dutch and preferably in another European language
