With business activity focuses primarily on private health care equity investments, our client focuses its investments in Greater China-based private companies, developing late stage and/or marketing commercial therapeutic or preventative products for human and animal. In partnership with strong management teams, the company intends to establish several new companies a year that will address un-met needs with innovative products or business models.
In order to expand the China business practice, the company is seeking to fill this position to implement its expansion and growth in the market.
Position: Vice President (Shanghai)
Responsibilities
- Originate growth stage investments in China
- Take leading roles in strategy, structuring, negotiation, and financing of transactions, as well as in the monitoring and operating initiatives within portfolio companies
- Manage a comprehensive financial and business due diligence process on potential investments, analyze and review investment proposals, provide hands-on assistance to portfolio companies, and gather industry research on areas of interest to the fund etc.
- Perform financial analysis, evaluate a company or idea in terms of its potential effect and acceptance in the marketplace, measure the potential hazards and risks involved, and be able to finalize a deal once an investment opportunity is found
- Work in fast-paced and entrepreneurial environments and have constant interaction with senior members of the firm and portfolio company management. Individuals are expected to handle a meaningful level of responsibility from the outset of their career at the company
Requirements
- Tertiary education, masters preferred
- At least 8 -10 years' work experience in related fields
- Must have good track record in Life Sciences deal sourcing in China
- Prior experience in management consulting or Investment Banking preferred
- Strong independent working capability, communication and presentation skills
- Native in Mandarin, fluent in English
