Job Description: * position: Line Maintenance Tech Location: Fremont, Ca Job Description: Summary: Under limited supervision, performs a wide variety of moderately complex duties to troubleshoot, maintain and repair all company manufacturing machinery and failure prevention. Following preset standards, calibrates mechanical equipment to maintain mechanical systems. May install and maintain various piping systems including water, compressed air, drainage and compressed gas. Performs planned preventative maintenance following established guidelines and recommends further repairs and remedial actions as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs all company machinery, equipment, instruments and test equipments and performs failure prevention Utilizes a variety of standard and non-standard manufacturing test equipment to check-out, test, troubleshoot and maintain tools, components, instruments, and test apparatus. Disassembles malfunctioning equipment, instruments or test equipment and tests mechanisms and circuitry for defects. Computer literacy and competency with MS Office, ERP software, Calibration systems and various computer systems to complete job duties. Specific knowledge and experience pertaining to HVAC, Pneumatic system, Torit, and/or Chilled cooling systems Replaces or repairs defective parts Reassembles equipment, instrument or test equipment according to established standards Performs repairs of capital and facilities equipment using various testing devices to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and/or mechanical systems Makes recommendations of modifications to enhance equipment life or productivity Provides guidance to lower level Line Maintenance Mechanics and accurately and clearly describes maintenance issues to Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Management Works with power and hand held tools, blue prints and schematics Follows planned preventative maintenance procedures and guidelines. Recommends further repairs or remedial actions. Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance Follows all company and corporate health, safety and environmental policies and standard operating procedures Works closely with engineers to determine equipment fault characteristics and makes recommendations on improvements Writes moderately complex technical reports and develops charts, graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate systems and repair characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications and functional limitations Installs various piping systems including water, compressed air, drainage and compressed gas Education: AA or equivalent; or trade/technical schooling; and 5-9 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous/current experience in medical device industry would be an additional asset. Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to use sophisticated test and measurement equipment associated with specific discipline. Read and understand technical documentation associated with specific discipline. Ability to use PC and associated software. Ability to read, write, communicate and understand English. Must be able to successfully complete company/department training courses in manufacturing techniques. Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements (GMP).
