Line Manager, Internal Audit Job in Valley Forge 19481, Pennsylvania US
Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies and a recognized employer of choice, seeks a line manager in the Internal Audit Department to develop and complete an annual audit plan in an accurate and timely manner.
Your primary duties and responsibilities:
- Managing and developing staff by providing guidance, training, and motivation; hiring, evaluating, and counseling personnel; following corporate disciplinary procedures; setting and reviewing performance standards, providing feedback, and recommending salary increases based on Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Developing an annual audit plan to achieve departmental and corporate objectives; working closely with management in the planning, development, and execution of short and long-term goals; independently recommending and implementing solutions that demonstrate initiative and creativity.
- Performing key management personnel inquiries to assist in developing audit strategies.
- Reviewing and approving audit reports and other communications with management; assisting the audit director in preparing audit committee communications.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the unit, the department, and division management, as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Vanguard's independent auditor.
- Managing multiple departmental and divisional projects; participating in special projects and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; B.S. or B.A. in a business-related field preferred; professional certification or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of business experience, with two to four years of previous management experience; five or more years of internal audit experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in situations requiring diplomacy and negotiation skills.
- Strong client focus and relationship skills.
