Linux Administrator recruitment
Job Description:
A hard working, creative thinking Linux Administrator with aspirations of engineering custom solutions in a team based setting using open source tools and Linux based scripting languages. Experience in the financial services field is a plus.
The primary responsibility is to support an on site operations team with any support related issues that may come up and escalate to engineering when necessary, while working with engineering and taking on team based global engineering projects which contribute towards the teams global project goals.
An on-call rotation is expected. One week a month or less as the team grows the individual will be required to participate in the on-call rotation which requires that they be available and able to support any production related outage or issue that may come up and escalate to engineering if necessary.
Expected hours of on-site support may fluctuate:
8am-4pm
9am-5pm
10am-6pm
Qualifications:
- 5 years of Linux experience.
- Bash/shell scripting.
- Python scripting is a plus.
- Knowledge of server hardware is a plus.
- Knowledge of virtualization and Amazon cloud services is a plus.
- Must be able to speak intelligently about projects they have worked on and describe their scripting philosophy.
