The Company, the Leader in Robotic Industrial Trucks, is seeking a motivated, creative Linux Development Operations Engineer interested in working full-time on a wide range of projects, from operating system configuration for our robotic material handling equipment to maintenance and upgrade of the tools our engineering group uses on a daily basis. This is not your standard IT job: they are a small, flexible company, where everyone contributes broadly to many aspects of the company. As part of the engineering group, you will be involved in all stages of their development process, and will have the opportunity to expand your horizons far beyond the traditional scope of system administration and IT. While there are servers to maintain, you will also be involved with building RPM and Debian packages of their production code, configuring the Linux computers that control their robots, and assisting in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of their network of robot management servers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain our Subversion and Trac servers.
Maintain and expand our automated build system.
Create and maintain RPM and Debian packages.
Resolve Linux-side problems that arise with our robots, such as:
· Wifi configuration
· Disk optimization
· Kernel configuration
· A host of other tweaks and optimizations.
· Develop automated data processing scripts in support of our robotic fleet.
· Resolving miscellaneous engineering problems
Required Skills:
· 3-5 years of experience with Linux system administration
· Experience with Apache
· Subversion administration experience
· Bash scripting experience
· Familiarity with Linux software development tools
· Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure
· Outgoing personality and excellent communication skills
· Fluency in English
Desired skills:
· Python scripting skills
· Experience administering Trac and its host of plugins
· Web development experience
· Familiarity with Django, Postgresql, and Sqlite
· B. S. in Computer Science.
