Linux (CentOS/RedHat) system engineer - Utrecht

This job is a fantastic opportunity to shape a brand new environment in such a way that it's easy to manage, performs well and has a fantastic uptime. You'll be part of a small but very dedicated team where you will take ownership and are able to use all your skills to manage the environment that contains state-of-the-art hardware. You'll be able to make a difference.

You are responsible for the operational support of our websites and application environments. As part of the operations team you maintain and improve our high traffic websites, applications and environments.

What will you be doing?
- Perform operational activities related to the hosting of services and applications.
- Responsible for technical and application level support.
- Responsible for the 24/7 availability and performance of our services and sites.
- Responsible for maintenance and security updates.
- Perform deployments together with development of new software releases.
- Resolve operational issues.
- Strong emphasis on improving our processes and technology.

What we're looking for :
- You have 3 or more years of experience in Linux environments for web-based solutionshandling/management or BI.
- You have experience with MySQL administration and preferable redundant set-ups
- You have experience with layer 4+ load balancers and Nagios or equivalent monitoring systems
- You have solid knowledge of web and networking protocols like HTTP, HTTPs, TCP and IP.
- You have solid knowledge of one or several of the following technologies: Apache, NGINX, LigHTTPD, Glassfish or Websphere, Fredhopper.
- You have good communication skills in English.
- You are passionate about your profession and enjoy taking ownership of your work!
