Linux Systems Administrator

Campbell, CA – Full Time

 

   We are currently seeking an experienced and energetic Systems Administrator to join our SaaS OPS team here at Altus365. The ideal candidate will have minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Linux based infrastructure in a 24x7x365 environment. Currently our infrastructure footprint spans from traditional colocation to public cloud. This individual will pay a key role in building and administering our public cloud infrastructure for delivering rich media content.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

·         Day to day management and maintenance of Altus365 servers and services. This includes everything from development and staging environments to our customer facing production environments.

·         Participate in implementing projects involving cloud migration, virtualization, and server rationalization.

·         Participate in on-call duties with other members of the OPS team.

·         Perform break-fix actions, root-cause analysis and manage creation of event reports.

·         Recommend and implement changes in operational processes, best practices and/or tools.

·         Manage and provide support for Home Office network and critical services such as IP telephony, mass storage and digital media encoding servers.


Requirements:

·         Minimum 3+ years of professional Systems Administration in large scale Linux Environments.

·         Understanding of security best practices, server and network hardening and risk mitigation.

·         In depth knowledge of Linux, Apache, and supporting services and technologies.

·         Strong familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Cacti, OSSEC

·         Proven experience with server and application deployment automation.

·         Strong ability with at least one scripting language (Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell)

·         Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues or function to non-technical individuals.

·         Demonstrated initiative, customer orientation and desire to work in a fast paced environment.

·         BS in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
