LINUX Systems Administrator (Job Number:301354) Description: JOB DESCRIPTION: The candidate will be responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency on multiple customer operating systems. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, validating and implementing critical system patches and allocating mass storage space for multiple customer operating systems. Candidate will interact with customer managers and users and may be asked to evaluate multiple vendor products and will be involved with making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery to customer systems. Additional responsibilities may include performing LINUX system administrative support to include adding and removing users, performing backups, installing software, monitoring system and network activity, and assisting users on a daily basis. Other duties include the installation and configuration of LINUX operating systems and applications on domain controllers, configurations on routers and switches, Exchange servers, File servers, and workstations. Will maintain/troubleshoot customer LINUX servers, network devices and workstations, both on-site and remotely. Will need to install/uninstall computer hardware components to include internal and peripheral devices, memory chips, video cards, hard drives, printers, network interface cards, media converters and other peripheral devices. The selected candidate will provide system administration support to a LINUX based domain supporting data processing, analysis, and storage components. Experience with account administration and file sharing in a RedHat environment. Candidate must possess a customer-service oriented attitude.
