We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Systems Engineer (Linux Systems Administrator) position at our Corporate Headquarters in Dublin, Ohio.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, your objective is to deploy, maintain, and performance tune Unix/Linux servers on both physical and virtual platforms across the organization to ensure high levels of data quality, availability, and security. You will participate in the planning, and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system/server efficiency and maintenance that is consistent with the company goals and industry best practices.

You are expected to stay current and proficient on emerging technologies through self-study and internal training, and meet all internal certification standards for skill sets identified within the realm of responsibility.

As a member of a 24x7 support team, this position must be available for after-hours critical escalations.

The Unix Systems Support (USS) team provides Linux, AIX and Unix support.
The USS Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the support of the server infrastructure and operating systems to include: SuSe Linux 10 and 11, CentOS 5.x and 6, AIX 5.x, Java, Apache/Tomcat, interfaces and configurations for SAN, NAS and iSCSI storage connectivity (network interfaces in the server), server firmware and hardware.

* Linux, AIX, Unix and knowledge of VMware operating systems; knowledge of Windows operating systems
* Troubleshooting, incident escalation, and problem solving

* Bash, Perl Scripting Languages
* Networking
* Storage technologies including fibre channel, 10GbE storage over IP, iSCSI, NFS
* EMC and NetApp storage platforms

* Unix and database concentric backup technologies
* Linux security including securing and hardening a server, familiarity with LDAP and Active Directory, securing SSH, postfix, sendmail, and NFS, creating userid/ passwords, restricting access and preventing accidental DOS
* Patching and RPMs, methods for configuration management, tools for integrating servers into the environment

Responsibilities include:

Technical Skills Experience

* 4+ years of experience with Unix/Linux
* 2+ years experience with VMware ESX and/or MS Windows
* 5+ years experience working with enterprise server platforms
* 3+ years experience with enterprise storage solutions
* 2+ years experience with enterprise-class backup solutions.
* Strong working knowledge of Internet networking technologies and principals including TCP/IP and DNS.
* Strong working knowledge of Linux, VMware and Microsoft platforms and technologies
* Practical or educational background in development principles
* Proven ability to absorb, master and leverage emerging technologies.
