The firm’s profitability is directly linked to the speed of its systems, so the Performance Team is crucial to the company’s wider success. The team employs passionate technology professionals that are able to take a holistic view of systems (Operating Systems (OS) : Infrastructure : Networks : Software : External Connections), evaluate all components, and then focus on the bottle necks for performance. From there, they are responsible for identifying and implementing creative solution sets for escalation to the business.
It is essential that you possess a strong overall understanding of all elements of technology, an in-depth knowledge of performance-enhancing solutions and have a creative approach to problem solving to help provide a competitive edge in a constantly evolving technical market.
Technical Requirements:
- 5+ Years in a similar performance / systems tuning role - ideally in telco, semi-conductors, avionics, financial trading, or similar fields where real-time system design is crucial to operational success.
- Demonstrated low-level programming experience, Linux kernel tuning, or embedded systems design experience.
- Experience working with any programming languages, provided your conceptual understanding is strong.
- Intimate understanding of Infrastructure, Application Layer, or Networks.
- A passionate technologist with a penchant for problem solving and bringing creative solutions to highly technical problems.
- Bachelor ⁄ Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or alternative technical area with strong academic results.
