Linux Trading Floor Support Engineer (Sydney) recruitment

Eclipse Options is a proprietary trading firm specializing in high frequency derivatives trading, including market making with its headquarters in Hong Kong. Combining our trading experience, technology and risk management, we currently trade the Asian markets and have offices in US and Australia.

For our Sydney Office, we are looking for a Trading Floor Support Engineer, able and willing to work independently to support our trading systems operations in Australia. He/She will work with our trading team in Sydney and will report to the Operations Team Lead in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Administration and maintenance of critical trading applications within a distributed multi-server environment
• Work closely with the Desktop, Network and development teams (all based in Hong Kong) and assisting when necessary
• Develop scripts and other tools to support our trading systems operations as required
• Follow IT policies and procedures as set forth by the management
• Provide general trading floor support directly to traders
• Be involved in some after- hours support as needed.

What you offer
• University Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
• Minimum 2 years Trading Support or high pressured Financial Application development is a must
• Strong Linux skills in a production environment (Redhat/Fedora preferred)
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking
• Knowledge of major trading systems: RTS, GL, ORC, Fidessa is preferred
• Exposure to market data services such as: Reuters, Bloomberg, Activ is preferred
• Working knowledge of at least two of the following: PERL, PHP, Java, VBA, DELPHI
• Experience with MySQL or Oracle in a production environment
• Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills under pressure
• Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English is a must
