Position Summary:
Provide tactical direction and leadership to material coordinator, logistics planner and customer service team to ensure customer requirements are met. Ensure all inventory and material discrepancies are resolved quickly and accurately to eliminate production loss or transportation service failures. Create and foster a relationship with the customer's logistics manager to facilitate operational stability.

Responsibilities:
-Interview and hire salaried associates, as well as provide career development, mentoring and promotional opportunities to qualified direct reports.
-Ensure team has a strong focus on details and is thoroughly trained in the problem resolution process.
-Emphasize safety performance as a recognized indicator of individual and team success.
-Ensures compliance with regulations and policies, and preferred work methods are followed.
-Quickly resolve inventory, material, and carrier issues or escalate to manager for alternate mode decision.
-Train, coach and plan work for all direct reports.
-Stay current on the customer's industry.
-Proactively look for opportunities to grow existing operation.
-Understand the PL, budget and financial health of the operation. Identify issues and resolve with leadership.
-Review operating metrics and fix out-of-tolerance results.
-Understand how customer, supplier and vendor fleets work together and affect overall supply chain performance.
-Monitors carrier performance to optimize value delivered to the customer.
