LNG Trading Analyst sought – Leading trading house

My client is a London based trading subsidiary of a global energy major. They have experienced rapid growth in recent years and are looking to further expand their London trading business throughout the end of this year and into 2012. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a LNG trading analyst to join this thriving business in their prestigious central London office.

Job Description:
The purpose of the position is to gather relevant information in order to develop and maintain economic
models to model the fiscal terms, costs, revenues and returns of LNG trading opportunities, in order to devise and assist the traders to improve market awareness and increase trading results.

The analyst will be physically situated on the trading desks and be responsible for utilising market information and ensure that market information and analysis from the desk activities are shared with peers at other trading desks. There will be constant interaction with the LNG traders in order to advise on trading opportunities and risks in order to improve the bottom-line.

The analyst will be responsible for building and maintaining analytical models in order to provide dynamic analysis of physical demand/supply balances; Forward markets; Positions of buyers and sellers; identifying LNG optimization opportunities.

Experience/qualifications required:
• Substantial experience of trading analysis in LNG, gas and/ or power markets especially on LNG trading
• In depth knowledge of the LNG industry, especially on commercial and operational nature of LNG
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or other industry relevant field
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively develop and utilise models and tools in a
commercial environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
