LNG Trading Manager recruitment
In this rare and challenging role, you will be a Trading Manager responsible for the set up of a new trading desk in Singapore to primarily trade LNG.
Key responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with relevant industries parties to develop business opportunities within the LNG trading arena.
- Approve the hedging strategies of junior traders and provide analytical reports to assist in taking hedging decisions
- Negotiate and conclude market transactions on a spot/term basis according to guidelines given
- Manage chartering and negotiate accordingly the main contractual standards and the agreements for leasing the sea transport capacity needed to move LNG products.
- Make economic assessment of the bids received by shipbrokers
- Interact with relevant departments in the company involved in the chartering process.
- Evaluate structured transactions for risk management
- Work closely with colleagues throughout the internal departments and other subsidiaries within the Organisation.
Ideally, you will have a degree in engineering or economics with specialisations and/or courses in energy, refining, marine transportation or relevant, coupled with at least 7 years of solid experience in energy trading. You will also have in depth experience in trading arbitrage and use of derivative instruments for the purposes of hedging.
Fluent in English and an Asian language is a plus and knowledge of any other language is considered an asset, as is strong IT competency including standard software dedicated to the trading activities
