Global Banking provides financial services to US Wells Fargo customers that have international business and European companies with business presence in the US.
The Loan Team Manager is a new position and the primary role will be to manage the credit function for Global Banking in EMEA working with a team of Relationship Managers (RMs) to appropriately structure credit facilities, manage the credit approval process, and oversee credit administration for the region. The office’s Portfolio Managers will report to the Loan Team Manager.
Responsibilities
- The responsibility of the Loan Team Manager include:
- Working with senior management to develop and execute business plans, including meeting or exceeding the office's revenue and development goals.
- Assigning new accounts to RMs in consultation with the Regional Vice President
- Functions as the risk control officer for the office.
- Coordinating timely loan approval, review and workout functions.
- Assist relationship managers with structuring, pricing, underwriting and documenting.
- On-going dialog with Regional Vice President, Division Manager and Loan Supervision on new loan opportunities and problem loan management.
- Monitor and review the office's loan underwriting and overall portfolio management to prepare for senior management/internal audit/regulatory agency's reviews;
- Ensure conformity with bank policies and procedures.
- Monitor delinquency, loss and risk rating accuracy.
- Approve loans within authorized guidelines.
- Develop/maintain procedures or process to ensure that the office is adhering to the OFAC/CIP/PEP/BSA requirements.
- Helping RMs balance underwriting requirements, client needs and risk-reward.
- Providing subject matter expertise to the US offices on lending in EMEA.
- Working with the Regional Vice President and Division Manager to develop/expand the relationship managers' skill set through training and coaching.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent), MBA preferred.
- Extensive credit and relationship management experience.
- Experience managing a commercial or corporate banking credit function for an international bank.
- Expertise in credit administration and compliance.
- Strength in trade finance and corporate lending structures (both secured and unsecured structures), including demonstrated ability to understand and articulate as well as design and structure transactions.
- Creative and innovative in structuring solutions to meet client needs.
- Understanding of cross-border lending structures, creditor’s rights and collateral issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills to coach, develop and motivate team and foster effective partnerships with other internal business lines.

- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a global team with team members in multiple countries and time zones.
- International travel requirement 25%.
