Loans Specialist recruitment
The role will include responsibility for closing and administration of primary loans (bilateral and syndicated), managing agency loan portfolio and closing of secondary traded loans; reporting directly to the Head of BPS. The administrator will be responsible for all aspects of closing new loans, servicing existing loan portfolio and closing secondary loan trades in Singapore / the region. A minimum of 8-10 years experience in Loan Closing, Administration of Bilateral loans and Syndicated loans (participation and agency loans) and/or closing of Secondary Loan trades experience required.
Primary Loan Administration role will include:
- Review of loan documentation and ensure documentation reflects the terms, condition of credit and business approvals
- Ensure timely transaction execution/closing of primary loan transactions as well as secondary loan trading activities
- Ensure proper control and smooth running of the department’s day-to-day loan portfolio administration; administration of syndicated loan agency and other daily routine activities
- Maintain/ensure proper control, management and custody of original documents
- Monitor borrower’s ongoing compliance with collateral and loan covenants
- Ensure regulatory compliance and reporting
- Ensure transaction records/files are properly created and maintained
- Receipt of drawdown notices / Checking drawdown is within approved limits.
- Arrangement of funding / Confirm rate fixing with client.
- Arrange payment of drawdown proceeds in accordance with the clients instructions.
- Monitor of repayment and interest receipt.
- Input, monitoring, updating and action of lifecycle loan management tasks.
- Input of additional facility information into trade system amendment of limit information on the various systems i.e. reduction following a repayment.
- Amendment of customer / static information on the various systems.
- Arranging the opening and closing of customer records.
Secondary Loan Trading Closing Administration will include:
- Review Of Documentation in relation to requirement to transfer an asset, consent requirement and confidentiality requirements / Completion/Review of trade confirmations.
- Obtaining borrower/issuing bank/agent bank consents as necessary.
- Completion/Review of transfer documentation / Completion/Review of Funding Notices.
- Management of cash flows as necessary to close a sale/purchase.
- Preparation of documentation including Risk Sub-participation Agreements and Transfer Certificates, Accession Agreement etc.
- Ensuring KYC complete on trading counterparties and any relevant internal consent’s are obtained i.e. CRC.
- Ensuring all necessary records established for trading counterparties and borrower.
Other responsibilities would include:
- General data integrity.
- Reconciliation of open positions to risk systems facility amounts.
- Reconciliation of credit limit amounts and utilisation amounts.
- Arrange for creation of all new trading loan limits, as required.
- Investigation of all breaks and issuance of suggested fixes.
- Verification of key data field components stored in trading system by reference to actual facility documentation.
- Provision of information / reporting for Audit purposes, Financial Control, Portfolio Reporting, details to Borrowers and Banks, Excess Reporting.
- Assist on Project work; development of internal documentation.
- Assist in any special projects, UAT as needed.
- Liaising with other members of the team / cross portfolio coverage.
- Maintain and refresh internal documentation, SOPs, process flows, to meet audit / internal requirements.
Our ideal candidates should have the following requisites:
- Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Economics or relevant subject
- 8-10+ years in loan documentation and administration of primary loans and secondary loans
- All round loans specialist with strong documentation experience for loan products and a good understanding of loan processes front to back
- Broad experience and familiarity with loan documentation – local/international/LMA standards
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as a team
- Hands-on task-oriented approach and a good eye for details
- Self motivated, positive, confident and committed.
- Professional and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask.
- Familiar with word and excel
