Local/Delivery Truck Driver Job in Morton Grove 60053, Illinois US
Job Purpose:
Delivers items by preparing, loading, unloading, and operating; maintaining records and warehouseman.
Duties:
* Loading of material independently in an efficient and timely manner.
* Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule.
* Warehouse duties as needed to support team.
* Ability to navigate through city driving conditions, and back into loading docks.
* Must have a CDL B with Air Breaks
* Legibly maintain truck logs
* Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; scheduling repairs.
* Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans truck exterior and interior.
* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests. Takes pride in a job well done.
Skills/Qualifications:
Data Entry Skills, Scheduling, Travel Logistics, Verbal Communication, Customer Focus, Deadline-Oriented, Travel, Acute Vision, Lifting, Dependability, At least 1 year CDL B with air experience making deliveries in the Chicago Loop including delivery dock procedures, clean driving record, Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to maintain necessary paperwork and to communicate with work staff and clients appropriately, Physical requirements include standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, stooping, lifting, pulling, and pushing (Must be able to lift 80 pounds).
