Part time role in Oslo Norway 25-27 hours per week perm

SUMMARY

The Senior Localization Engineer shall serve in a direct support capacity to the our clients Client Services and to external Clients while providing senior leadership and mentoring to the rest of the team. The position is intended to compliment the skills of the individuals within this group by providing an advanced level of technical support on a variety of software programs, data types and formats, graphic design file conversion and other business critical demands. The core responsibility is to ensure timely processing of production files and eliminate technical challenges which present delays. Group training is also an important component to this role. This position will also provide off-hours on call support to our clients Employees and select clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS

Possess a deep functional and technical understanding of the software products used by the Client Services team.

 Develop a good understanding of the business processes of this team and align the support function to best serve this group so company objectives are met.

 Prioritize effectively and provide timely support to these Operational users.

 Develop internal technical training programs to continuously increase the technical acumen of the Client Services staff.

 At times or as the function grows, off-hours (on call) support may be required.

 Provide technical support to Clients or Translators (as needed).

 All technical support requests are to be captured and stored for analysis. Trend analysis and opportunity observations which produce training or correction programs are also expected.

 Work collaboratively with Research Development or other of our clients technical teams to develop a deep understanding of our clients products so as to serve as Level One support.

 Create custom reports for end users.

 Create custom utilities to streamline processes and provide efficiencies.

 Compliment the Project Managers within the Client Services Department by providing them a better understanding of the tools needed to be successful.

 Provide mentorship to the other Team members.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED

A minimum of an Associate’s degree is required or 6+ years of business (on the job) experience.

 4+ years of technical support experience.

 SQL Scripting experience is required.

 Ability to read and interpret C# source code.

 Ability to create custom utilities in C# that can streamline processes currently in place and provide efficient process improvement.

 

 Expert at troubleshooting complex systems that involve multiple OS platforms, applications, network communications and complex database configurations.

 Extensive experience with implementing and troubleshooting RDBMS’s (Oracle/SQL Server).

 Experience with Windows, Unix (Solaris, Linux), and Apple platforms.

 Experience with Application servers (e.g. Tomcat, IBM Websphere, BEA WebLogic).

 Familiarity with HTML, XML, web technologies.

 Software Localization experience is preferred.

 Good understanding of our clients  software and applications is preferred.
