Logistics Analyst - Hot Springs, AR
Title: Logistics Analyst - Hot Springs, AR Location: USA-AR-Hot Springs Other Locations: General Information: This is one of two positions being offered, One will be based in Federal Way, WA and one in Hot Springs AR. These roles are part of the Weyerhaeuser Wood Products Logistics organization. These are full-time, exempt positions. A very limited relocation package will be available with these positions. Background: This role reports to the Lead Logistics Analyst in each region. The successful candidate will be a key member of the logistics team providing analytical support for the assigned geography and customers. Team members will occasionally be required to flow-to-work as priorities and business needs dictate. Key General Functions: * Works with members of logistics and operations, using analytical and optimization tools models, to provide operational and financial analysis of historic, current future operations; assists in preparing presenting analyses, explanations, recommendations. * Provides analytical support to members of the logistics team as it relates to improvement initiatives and rate negotiations * Closely works with logistics team and businesses to drive improvement initiatives, eventually drives own initiatives * Proactively identifies improvement opportunities based on spend, rate and benchmarking data * Works with business counterparts to "deep dive" on and validate analytical findings * Collates, maintains and cleans data sets of key performance metrics and business information (e. g. rates, volume, spend) * Develops and prepares reports for management e. g. cost variance report, rate benchmarking, on-time delivery reports * Works with procurement and logistics professionals to update, track, and communicate rate changes in various systems, enabling accurate, timely, efficient carrier and supplier payment. * Participates on multiple teams, flow to work and assist others as necessary to provide required analytical support. Requirements: * BS/BA in supply chain, finance, accounting, or similar discipline * Previous supply chain experience preferable * Advanced knowledge experience using MS-Excel Access; working knowledge of MS-Word PowerPoint * Strong analytical skills; ability to collate data from numerous internal external sources, conduct meaningful analyses * Excellent oral and written communications, ability to present conciliations to management * Demonstrated drive initiative to identify and deliver cost reductions and other performance improvements * Customer and team oriented Please include a brief cover letter describing why you believe you area good fit for this role Weyerhaeuser is an Equal Opportunity Employer building a capable, committed, diverse workforce
