Summary
Serves as the central resource for the collection and analysis of logistics related data with the express purpose of allowing for data driven decision-making. The job will be primarily to pull information from SAP and other sources to determine areas for cost improvement, supply optimization, and report fact-based progress against the goals for the Global Logistics function. Absent this role, the skillset needed for high level data analysis (Excel skills with pivot tables, cost modeling, regression analysis, etc.) is lacking.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages information technology (SAP), to extract pertinent information, writes queries to produce special reports, converts data to actionable information.
- Partners with costing manager on delivering costing analytics to various managers in GSC to assist managers in the decision making process.
- Monitors department budgets and reports anomalies, prepares monthly updates, and tracks market indices.
- Perform cost analyses and develop models for special projects.
- Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping, and/or problem analysis.
Basic Qualifications (special skills, knowledge, ability, education, etc.):
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Math, Chemistry or related science), certificate, diplomat gained through a college/university.
- 4-5 years of supply chain, oil and gas or chemistry experience.
- High powered analytical skills, cost modeling, financial business case creation.
Preferred Qualifications (if any, specialized areas, additional certifications):
- MBA preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial functions, etc.).
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Access.
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Ability to multi-task.
