Job Purpose Summary:

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a leading role in projects within our client’s logistics business, on stand alone consultancy assignments and as part of a wider service offering.

 

Project work may take place across a range of sectors – including city logistics, large commercial developments, airports, warehousing distribution.

 

The role will include:

 

·         Project and team leadership responsibilities contributing to the overall development of the logistics team, and specific project roles as Specialist Team Leader as appropriate.

·         Wider involvement in the operations / logistics consultancy businesses as opportunities arise.

·         Hands on involvement in project delivery – working on an individual basis or as a member of a project team. Project roles may involve development of operational strategy, analysis of business requirements, design of solution concepts and management of implementation – in relation to business processes, handling systems and business systems.

 

The key responsibilities will be devising layouts for service yards incorporating operating strategies for servicing large multi use developments. Working closely with transport planners and / or architects to advise them of servicing strategies – goods in and waste out of residential, retail leisure developments.

Relationships   

 

The candidate will form part of the Logistics team. Key relationships will include:

 

·         within the logistics team: in leading, supporting, encouraging other team members

·         within the wider organisation: in networking, joint working, promoting activities with Clients and suppliers: in delivering projects

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

·         as project lead: to deliver projects to meet client objectives within cost, time and quality objectives

·         as part of the wider logistics team: to help in developing younger members of staff and to take an increasing role in developing work for self and other members of the team

 

Key Skills / Requirements:

·         Good command of English – both written spoken

·         Microsoft Office suite – competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook

·         AutoCAD – working knowledge preferred

 

 

The post provides an opportunity to participate in a key area of the business from a strong UK / European base. There are likely to be significant opportunities for international travel and for involvement in prestigious projects across sectors.
