We currently have the following opportunity available:

Logistics Specialist Manage data and information flow between service providers and TJX. Continuously monitors the freight volume, carrier allocations and carrier commitments to ensure TJX is meeting contracted agreements. Managing and building collaborative relationships with strategic logistical partners. Facilitate monthly carrier and freight forwarder meetings. Continuous diagnostics of issues and processes that impact end to end performance and provide detailed recommendations for supply chain improvements. Coordinate the entry process for special incentive buys that fall out of scope of TJX established business processes. Provides classification support for stock lot buys and ensures TJX service providers can file entry timely and accurately. Specific focus is on Customs, FDA and Fish Wildlife regulations surrounding import entry operations for all products developed and imported by TJX. The primary contact within the department to resolve complex entry issues compliantly and timely to avoid delays. Development and implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure that company standards (Key Performance Indicator’s) are met. Responsibilities include:

  • Analysis of service provider reporting to evaluate the effectiveness of TJX container and routing business rules. Monitors the performance of logistics and brokerage service providers to ensure that company standards are met, included but not limited to: origin hold times, EDI’s, ISF compliance and brokerage timing standards. Reports service provider failures to management by providing monthly and quarterly metrics reports. Takes corrective action where needed.
  • Manage carrier allocation and carrier commitments to ensure TJX will meet its contractual obligations. Maintain and update SSL contract reference books to include amendments, rates and allocations. Review carrier contacts and amendments for accuracy. Schedule and manage monthly service provider and compliance meetings. Review market trends and issues that are or have potential to disrupt TJX supply chains.
  • Coordinate the ISF to entry process to ensure that TJX is filing timely and accurately. Takes the necessary steps to file amendments to ISF’s when needed and within the established timing standards. Reviews cargo security compliance processes for accuracy and timeliness, provides recommendations on process improvements. Works in conjunction with service providers to manage exceptions with the security filing processes: Bad BOL’s, No AMS, Suspect BOL’s, no security filing. Provides ISF tracking and timing reports to management on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Deep dive analysis of cube utilization, discrepant manifest, no show booking and transloading reporting. Identifies gaps in the process and communicates recommendations to upper management in order to achieve efficient cost effective product distribution. Reviews security load plan violations and works with agents and vendors for compliance.
  • Coordinate the stock lot and special incentive buy process with TJX service providers and vendors that fall out of established business processes. Work with the agent or vendor to correctly classify merchandise for ISF and Customs entry purposes. Manage the data, spreadsheets and invoicing to ensure timely and accurate Customs entry filings. Provide management reporting on cost savings and timing standards.
  • Maintains logistics and brokerage SOPs as well as department procedure manuals. Reviews policies and procedures with department on any charges/updates that have an impact on the daily operations.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Logistics Manager and the AVP of Logistics Operations.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Int'l Business, Logistics/Transportation, or equivalent job experience
  • US Customs Broker License preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge/Experience with Steamship Line and Freight Forwarder contracts and Trade Compliance Regulations
  • Good analytical skills utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • 3 to 5 years international business experience
