London IT Service Manager recruitment

The IT Service Manager oversees all aspects of user facing technology service and environment management, acting as a single point of liaison between senior Business Unit stakeholders and the Enterprise Infrastructure organisation.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience of working in IT Service Management within an Investment Banking environment and possess the ability to work proactively to ensure the delivery of a consistently high level of service. To be successful, the candidate must be able to maintain a healthy balance between high productivity and high quality to meet the needs of an extremely demanding and challenging environment encompassing an 800+ user base.

The position requires strong management, communication, organizational and technical skills coupled with an aptitude for fast learning and the ability to work well in a team.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between key Business Unit stakeholders and Morgan Stanley IT groups to manage and communicate any technology change or outage impact to the Business production environment
- Act as an escalation point for the BUSS team through procedural, technical and prioritisation guidance
- Manage and delegate activities across the Business Unit Support Specialist (BUSS) team
- Project manage high impacting or high risk technology initiatives
- Liaise with IT vendors/partners to ensure continual improvement of End User IT Services
- Liaise with global and EMEA branch IT counterparts to ensure consistent implementation of IT changes to the end user community
- Encourage technical advancements, innovate, review and recommend technology changes/processes where there is a clear business benefit
- Facilitate career and skill development of direct reports.

Skills Required:

- Experience in IT Service, particularly Service Management within the Financial Services enterprise environment
- Strong Windows technical skills at a desktop and application level
- Strong relationship building skills with regard to Business clients, enterprise technology groups and vendor partnerships
- Strong team building skills across both full time and consultant staff
- Strong personal organisational and problem solving skills
- Strong process analysis and service improvement skills.
