Long Short Global Equity Analyst
Objective:
Originated and place Global long/short equity trades using a combination of top-down thematic views and fundamental bottom-up analyses.
The Senior Global Investment Analyst will have the following responsibilities:
- Origination of high conviction and timely long and short investment ideas based on in-depth fundamental analysis.
- Working closely with other Investment Analysts to develop investment themes and ideas.
- Presenting high conviction and timely long and short investment recommendations to the Portfolio Manager.
- On-going close monitoring of positions invested in the Portfolio.
- Cover a number of sectors globally, focused on value driven trades in equities using a combination of top-down sector themes and fundamental bottom-up analysis and research to identify price dislocations
- Fundamental analysis includes (but is not limited to) building own models and forecasts, understanding sector dynamics, supply/demand situation and trends, comparing valuation to relevant peers as well as on an absolute basis, as well as understanding soft factors including quality of management, financing requirements and capital raising ability etc.
- Be comfortable with following a wide number of current investments and their developing stories while working on new ideas and sectors.
- Have relationships with most of the managements in firms as well as the analysts in various brokerage houses covering the relevant sectors and companies and frequently meet with or schedule calls with both to stay abreast of current developments.
- Have current investments in and a deep understanding of the sectors and companies listed below and more.
Investment Analyst candidates should have the following characteristics:
- At least 7 years of high quality investment experience including at least 4 years of buy-side investment experience:
- Ideal candidates will have long and short investment experience across multiple sectors and multiple regions
- High degree of intellectual curiosity and versatility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good team-player
- Strong academic background
- CFAs are preferred
