Loss Mitigation Representative Job Description: Seeking a Loss Mitigation Representative for a North East San Antonio client. This is a direct placement opportunity paying $17.00 per hour. Travel will be required for the first 2 weeks for training in California. POSITION SUMMARY: Working independently within clear guidelines and established procedures to take the application and educate the borrower on the programs which includes budgeting counsel, credit practices, housing issues, and the wise use of credit both over the phone and face to face. Reviews client's financial situation and works with client to develop and implement a clear financial management action plan. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: - Responsible for educating the borrowers about all available programs and other housing program if applicable. - Responsible for the thorough review and analysis of debt to income during counseling sessions. Counsels borrowers on the value of good financial management. - Assess borrower's needs and develops a client plan of action recommendation based on the information established in the counseling session. - Sets up budget and to assist clients in resolving their financial indebtedness. - Maintains thorough records on each session and is responsible for the prompt submission of records according to established procedures. Utilizes computer system to input counseling results. - Responsible for acquiring and maintaining current and up to date relevant information required to fulfill the application requirements. - Promotes a positive image of the client company throughout the program - Supports in the compiling and reporting Borrower statistics and overall management of the borrowers financial portfolio - Makes appropriate referrals to other resources in the community based on client's needs. (Legal Referral Service, Legal Aid, Family Services, Food Share, etc.) Counselor does not give legal or tax advice. - Adheres to established company policies and procedures. - Provides support to management in the performance of other duties as required by the department Manager/Assistant Manager, if appropriate, support to Executive team, or President/CEO. - Receives assignments from Housing Specialist Manager. Works independently within clear guidelines and established agency policies and procedures. Supervisor available for guidance and consultation. QUALIFCATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: - BS or BA Degree preferred and 2-5 years experience in a counseling, lending or credit-related field. Demonstrated performance and work experience may be a substitute for the education requirements. Minimum two years financial experience - Must obtain applicable counseling certifications, i.e. NFCC, FDCPA, FCRA, etc. within 6 months of date of hire as outlined in the client's Exam Policy and Procedures". Must maintain and recertify your certification throughout employment. - Must have excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills. Self-motivated, willingness to constantly improve. Above average attendance performance required. Professional appearance and attitude. Displays good judgment and common sense qualities. - Physical requirements include driving to supply stores, shopping for supplies, lifting and moving boxes of computer paper, forms, supplies and small office equipment. Must have insurable mode of transportation and provide proof of auto insurance. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
