Full Job Description
My client is an extremely forward thinking and cutting edge technology start up, founded five years ago in London. The organization focusing on delivering big data in a dynamic, fast and completely innovative fashion. Through massive growth an incredible high client demand, on a global scale, from leading companies in capital markets, E-Gaming and digital media, the firm is looking to further push the focus on capital markets and hire a senior low latency expert to take a business critical role. You will ideally have experience in a high frequency-low latency trading environment, with strong knowledge of equities and sound analytical skills. You will use your strong background and proven experience to take the firms product to the next level as they look to be at the forefront of capital markets technology.
You will join an entrepreneurial environment, in which every technologist is expected to collaborate and innovate. Whilst the candidate will have a strong C-C++ low latency background (perhaps a background in telecommunications-e-gaming prior to finance) it is also important that the candidate has a genuine interest in technology whether it be mobile development, functional programming, open source, big data etc.
Compensation will be very competitive and since this firm is still small and growing rapidly, career progression will be rapid.
Ideal Skill Set for Low Latency Guru - C-C++-Java (Big Data and Capital Markets Experience a plus)
• Low Level C-C++ Experience (Java will be considered)
• Significant experience designing and developing real-time, low latency systems
• Incredible multi-threading skills
• Lock-free and weight-free algorithm experience
• Secondary Programming Languages such as Java, C#, Python, F# Etc
• Wider interest in cutting edge technology and the latest innovations (e.g cloud computing, big data, open source, mobile technology)
• Strong capital markets experience - ideally equity-options
• Great communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative start up environment
Responsibilities for Low Latency Guru - C++-Java (Big Data and Capital Markets Experience a plus)
• Take a lead role in the design and development of a cutting edge low latency product for the capital markets (C-C++)
• Introduce new ideas-methodologies on big data
• Join a small team of highly experienced engineers and be the subject matter expert for the capital markets
• Constantly innovate and stay abreast of new technologies in the market
• Mentor junior technologists
This is an incredible opportunity for a senior architect-developer in the space to join a very exciting firm, with a very innovative product that is looking to change and challenge the way we look at big data. You will be instantly recognized as the capital markets expert and you will greatly use your in depth knowledge of financial products and analytics. Therefore this role is highly suited to a senior developer looking to work in a small, entrepreneurial
