L/S Equity Analysts
$700Mil L/S Equity Fund is seeking to build out its equity research team with the addition of 1 or more Mid to Sr equity analysts (generalist or sector expertise, NO Healthcare ot Technology) with sell-side and/or buy-side experience. The analyst will work in the long/short equity group.
Responsibilities:
Research, source, generate and recommend investment ideas to portfolio manager
Manage company valuation models, analyze asset value, long-term earnings power and upside/downside price targets
Due diligence on current positions including valuation analysis, industry research and company specific fundamental analysis
Interact with sell-side analysts, management teams and industry contacts
Work closely with trading staff to assure best execution of trades
Qualifications:
4-6 years post-undergrad experience at a top-tier investment bank (banking or research) and/or at a buy-side firm managing a long/short equity portfolio
An undergraduate degree from a highly ranked school; MBA from a top-tier business school optional
Comfortable making investment recommendations to portfolio managers and MDs at the firm
Strong analytical and financial acumen, outstanding modeling skills and solid business judgment
Strong work ethic, excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing and presentation skills
Professional certifications (CFA, CPA, CMA, etc.) are strongly desired
