M&A Director – EFNC/MSON recruitment
Job context:
Director of MA Operations will be responsible for supporting the Vice President of Strategy and MA on management of the MA and acquisition integration process for the Fire Protection Products (FPP) business unit. The primary focus of the position will be leading the integration activities for new acquisitions and driving the FPP acquisition integration methodology. Beyond that, the position will support the new deal origination process and will also further enhance the FPP acquisition integration methodology. The position will be assigned to either the Americas, EMEA or APAC region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as lead program manager on new acquisition integration efforts. Implement FPP approach for acquisition integration, but adapt as required to satisfy needs of new acquisition leadership, FPP leadership and corporate leadership.
- Rapidly bring structure and priorities to integration activities associated with a new acquisition. Be able to discern between critical path items that impact financial results and “nice-to-have” items that can be managed over time.
- Provide leadership and guidance to newly acquired team members. Help reinforce motivational points from FPP leadership and provide informal coaching and encouragement.
- Help improve the FPP acquisition integration approach and be willing to coach people on the process.
- When able, support the new MA target origination process and tracking and potentially help manage individual deals throughout the FPP and corporate process.
Specific circumstances:
The role typically requires 25% travel, but it may be as much as 100% for short periods of time following the closing of a new acquisition.
Qualifications needed
Education Experience:
- Four (4) year degree in business, marketing or an engineering/technical field. MBA preferred.
- Requires between 5 – 10 years of business experience, depending on academic background and experience with MA and acquisition integrations. Roles with significant project management and group facilitation are preferred.
Job Specific:
- 2 - 5 years of project management experience as a Project Lead is expected. Experience with business strategy and multiple functional areas is a plus. Experience with acquisition integration is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in industrial/manufacturing and B-to-B businesses is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to drive results amidst organizational ambiguity.
- Excellent written verbal English communication skills, multiple languages skills a plus.
- Strong financial and general business acumen.
- Experience working in a matrix business structure and working collaboratively with multiple functions on joint programs.
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is mandatory. Experience with ERP and data warehouse applications such as SAP, JD Edwards and Cognos is a plus.
