The division is organised into four main entities whose reach is worldwide: Senior Bankers, Investment Banking, Client Relationship Management, and the Client Marketing Unit. SG CIB's ambition is to become a leading investment banking player.
Summary
Servicing the Coverage and MA teams in the London platform as a Trainee for a period of 6 months.
Main responsibilities
- As an Investment Banking Intern you will work directly with the Senior Banker, coverage and MA teams in charge of the TMT (telecoms, media, technology) platform. You will work to support both origination and execution across a range of products, in particular in MA, debt, hybrid debt, equity equity linked as well as capital structure related issues.
- In this context, you will also be in charge of liaising with (product) experts typically based in London and Paris in the dedicated SG Business Lines.
- The Investment Banking Intern carries out a wide variety of tasks, including financial statement analysis, financial modelling, company and industry research, and preparation of client presentations, deal memoranda etc, both in the context of the origination and execution of transactions:
- Help to prepare MA and ECM client pitches
- Help to prepare cross-product client pitches
- Do company and industry analyses and prepare company and industry profiles
- Target analysis and / or buyer’s acquisition capacity analysis
- Company valuations using market multiples, MA multiples and the DCF method
- Help to develop transaction structures / structured solutions
- Keep up to date about MA, equity and debt related issues
Personal abilities
Technical skills
- The position requires a self-confident person who is a self-starter; highly motivated and reliable, with strong team spirit, well organized with good attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration
- Exposure to Investment Banking or Corporate Finance experience in MA / Corporate Finance, DCM or ECM, ideally in a leading Investment Bank
- Fluency in English is essential
- Strong technical / analytical skills plus very good command of MS Office
- Ideally good command of Bloomberg and Reuters
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education
- Graduate of a top university in any discipline with a minimum 2 :1
Past experience
- None required, however previous internships or experience in Corporate Finance would be an advantage.
Languages
- Fluent English
- Other languages would be an advantag
Technical skills
- Very good command of MS Office
- Ideally good command of Bloomberg and Reuters
