Machine Builder / Toolmaker
Expanding small company producing automated manufacturing equipment is looking to decrease our time-to-market through the addition of a proficient Machine Builders / Toolmakers.
Several positions are available.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Fit together various combinations of purchased and manufactured components into subassemblies, and subassemblies into completed machinery using blueprints and bills of materials. We build primarily;
o Material handling robotic systems.
o Assembly automation, robotic and non-robotic
o Welding automation, robotic and non-robotic
o Test equipment
o Dispensing systems
· Must be able to interpret pneumatic diagrams and translate to real-world equipment, then implement proper plumbing techniques using various tubing and hose.
· Troubleshoot problems with machine components, suggest courses of action, and implement corrective measures agreed to by the team, using common machine shop equipment.
Requirements:
· 5 years minimum experience with machine assembly and troubleshooting of machine mechanical and pneumatic systems.
· 3 years experience with manual machine shop equipment, mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
· Creative thinking and self-motivation – Must be productive both individually and within a team environment. Must have good organizational skills..
· Must work efficiently toward completing the task assigned within the time allotted.
· Must demonstrate proficiency reading component, assembly, and pneumatic blueprints.
· Must demonstrate proficiency using common machining equipment and techniques.
· Must have own tools.
· Must be able to travel (usually in three-day to one week intervals) during the installation and commissioning phase of various projects. This job requires approximately 15% travel requiring overnight stays.
· Welding and fabrication experience is desired, but not required for every candidate.
· This position emphasizes the use of manual machining equipment; however experience in CNC programming/setup/and operation is considered a plus, as long as the primary goal of proficiency in manual machining is met.
· Must be able to pass a drug screen and DOT physical.
