The Machine Learning Intern is responsible for but not limited to the following: Apply machine learning methodology to develop solutions for forecasting the safety of drugs in development. Designing and implementing novel algorithms and running existing solutions on new datasets. Qualifications Education: Enrolled in PhD program in a relevant quantitative field (e.g. Comp Sci/Stats/Comp Bio, etc.) Required: The candidate should have under-the-hood knowledge of many of these machine learning concepts: Supervised/unsupervised learning, loss functions, regularization, feature selection, regression/classification, cross-validation, bagging, kernel methods, graphical models, mixture models, sampling, probability distributions, etc. Available full-time beginning June 2012 for 10-12 weeks Preferred: Application of these techniques to solve biological problems will be considered an added asset.
