University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, a leading academic health system, is currently seeking a professional, energetic and highly motivated Nurse Manager at our Madison Surgery Center location.
This exciting full-time position the Nurse Manager is responsible for coordinating all activities related to patient care in the Pre-Post-operative, Pre-Post-Procedure area, Pre-Admission, and reception areas of the center. This includes planning, organizing, and coordinating of day-to-day operations to ensure quality patient care and supervising all staff in the areas listed. This position is also responsible for collaborating with the Administrative Director to provide adequate staffing, appropriate learning experiences, professional work environment utilizing a team approach, and ongoing communication with the staff in order to ensure the surgery center provides high quality patient care in a cost effective manner. The Nurse Managers are responsible for meeting standards of the Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) for patient care.
The ideal candidate should have exceptional decision making and problem solving ability and well developed communication skills and proven support for approach to providing high quality patient care in a cost-effective manner. Requirements include a bachelors degree in nursing or related field a current WI RN License BLS, 3 years clinical experience in a Post Anesthesia Care setting, 1 - 3 years in a clinical leadership role, preferably in an ambulatory surgery setting, and be current in Nurse Practice Act, AORN(Association of Perioperative Nurses), and ASPAN (American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses).
