Current Need This opportunity is within the McKesson Technology Solutions division, the leading international provider of integrated information system solutions for the healthcare industry. McKesson's solutions include enterprise-wide patient care, clinical, financial and strategic management software solutions, as well as internet-based and networking technologies, electronic commerce, outsourcing and other services to healthcare organizations throughout the world. Our undergraduate intern program provides you with an opportunity to experience the healthcare industry first-hand. By applying your education to a real-life working environment, you will receive a solid foundation of experience as a McKesson intern. Through project-based work across key business initiatives, as well as hands-on experience, you will be exposed to many aspects of the business and draw upon your varied skill set. Further, by working in tandem with others, you will build a network of support to help you develop professionally. Summer Interns work full-time for 10 weeks. Each intern is assigned a project-focused opportunity in a specific business unit and works directly with an Intern Coordinator and Sponsor. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and growing industry! Position Description The candidate will be working on both development of new features as well as maintenance items for the McKesson Automation product suite. The project that the candidate will be working on will be part of our new release development for our 8.1 release, which contains enhancements for our customers. The candidate could be working on any or a combination of the following products, Robot-Rx, PROmanager-Rx, AcuDose-Rx, Anesthesia-Rx, MedCarousel, MedShelf, Intellishelf-Rx, Fulfill-Rx, Packagers, NarcStation or PACMED. Minimum Requirements Must be currently enrolled in four year college/university to be eligible for the undergraduate summer internship program. The candidate should possess skills with Object Oriented Programming both design and implementation. Should possess skills and experiences related to software development practices and should have taken coursework in computer science. The coursework should have entailed Computer Architecture, Data Structures and Algorithms, preferably using C#. The candidate should be able to write software for moderate level complexity specifications. Additional Knowledge Skills C# programming language experience preferred. SQL database skills are preferred. Design Patterns and Architecture are preferred but not required. Education Must be a rising junior or senior enrolled in a Computer Science or related program at a four year college/university.
