As part of Pitney Bowes, a billion company, we help our clients discover innovative ways to send mail more effectively. www.pb.com/mailservices This position provides technical and maintenance support to production equipment in an Operating Center under the direction of the Lead and Senior Technician Responsible for mechanical and electronic repairs of all equipment Completes preventative maintenance according to operating procedures and vendor operating standards. Responds to equipment break down or emergency situations with urgency and expediency Consistently utilizes Infor EAM and access/maintains the spare parts/supply inventory Evaluates and assesses equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs in a timely manner Communicates and/or escalates serious equipment issues to the Lead or Senior Technician Attends appropriate technical training classes Studies, reviews and utilizes vendor technical manuals, publications or updates, as needed, to remain familiar with all changes or modifications to equipment Assists Presort locations with moving and/or installing of equipment as needed Responds to phone calls during call periods or emergency situations Regular attendance This position may require working any of our 3 shifts Performs all other duties as assigned Pitney Bowes is an EEO and Affirmative Action Employer that values diversity in the workplace. Qualification Strong mechanical and electrical abilities to include the ability to utilize basic electrical/electronic testing equipment (i.e. multi-meter) Ability to read, understand and follow electrical schematics Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, establish priorities, and work under deadline pressures. Ability to communicate clearly, explain equipment maintenance or repair needs to management technicians and other employees. Must work well in both a team environment and independently The ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and overtime as required Must be able to take instruction or direction in a positive manner Ability to regularly: Sit, stand, walk, speak clearly, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands or arms, and use hands and fingers Available to travel 10% of the time A minimum of one year of experience in maintaining, repairing, or installing mailing or comparable equipment Successful completion of Electronics course work usually provided in a program at a trade school or community college.
