MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE
LINE OF SUPERVISION:
Responsible to Facilities Manager.
DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Perform general maintenance and repairs to Day Nursery of Abilene physical and plant assets, including buildings, vehicles and grounds. Position is non-exempt under FLSA.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Be 23 years of age.
2. Current Texas driver’s license.
3. No convictions for any felony offenses or misdemeanor offenses classified against persons or family, public indecency, or the Texas Controlled Substance Act.
4. Knowledge and prior experience in repair and maintenance duties.
5. Knowledge and prior experience in basic vehicle maintenance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Abide by all policies and procedures of Day Nursery as well as all standards as stated in
Minimum Standards for Child Care and Child Care Program Operations/Texas Rising Star
criteria.
2. Maintain grounds, including watering lawns and picking up trash, to ensure a safe and clean environment.
3. Perform and/or ensure maintenance including scheduled maintenance, minor repairs and
touch up painting.
5. Report unsafe or faulty conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
6. Maintain Day Nursery vehicles.
7. Perform additional assignments as requested or approved by supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physically able to meet all essential job functions listed above which requires meeting the following physical demands:
